General FAQ
Q: Why The Peanut Shell baby sling?
A: The Peanut Shell baby sling is the perfect way to carry your baby in style, while freeing up your hands and spending quality time nurturing your baby. We offer three options to meet your carrying needs: the Adjustable Baby Sling to fit just the way you want; and the Classic Baby Sling and the Heirloom Baby Sling with nothing to cinch or adjust.
Q: How do I pick my size if I am pregnant?
A: Our sizing table offers information to help you measure for the right size pre-pregnancy. You may also want to watch our video (available on our site or You Tube) that reviews pregnancy sizing. If you are currently pregnant and trying out your new baby sling, you will probably find that it feels too small. This is completely normal and we HIGHLY recommend NOT exchanging until after your baby is born. You may find that once the belly goes down, the baby sling is a perfect fit with baby inside. However, please keep all original packaging and invoices handy in case you do need to exchange.
Q: Is my Peanut Shell baby sling too big?
A: First, always be sure to try the sling with the baby inside to determine if you have the correct fit. With your baby inside the sling, the lowest part of baby's body should hit at your hip bones or above. If your baby is inside the sling and their body is riding below this, the baby sling is probably too big.
Q: Is my Peanut Shell baby sling too small?
A: First, always be sure to try the sling with the baby inside to determine if you have the correct fit. If you can get your baby in the sling (even if it is a little difficult at first), then you probably have the right size. It does take a little practice and getting used to, but the sling should fit snug AND be comfortable.
Q: Is The Peanut Shell baby sling like other types of slings?
A: The Peanut Shell baby sling has our original slimmer cut design, so that excess fabric bulk on the shoulder is eliminated as well as a perfectly plush pouch that gives your baby the most comfortable ride from infancy through toddlerhood. All of our baby slings are rigorously tested to the highest standard and our styles and fabrics demonstrate our chic sense of style.
Q: Can I wash my Peanut Shell product?
A: Our products are made to fit your life. Most of our products are machine washable and can be laid flat to dry. The Heirloom baby slings are the only exceptions, which we recommend be dry cleaned due to the fabric and delicate details.
Q: Can I return or exchange my Peanut Shell product?
A: Our return and exchange policy is competitive and offers our consumers reasonable latitude to ensure they can enjoy and trust the quality of their Peanut Shell product to the fullest.
Q: Do I need to replace my sling as my baby grows?
A: No, you will not need to replace your baby sling. As a parent, you have adjusted so much in your life. The Peanut Shell's goal is to adjust to you rather than add something else to your already overflowing plate. Our suggested carrying positions will accommodate a growing baby in just one of any of our slings.
Q: Where can I buy The Peanut Shell® baby sling in person?
Q: Does the baby sling stretch out with extended wear?
A: No, we use fabrics that hold their shape over time. The pouch will stretch while wearing, just like clothes, but goes back to its original form after washing.
Q: I now carry my baby on the hip carry and my baby sling feels too big. Why?
A: An older baby actually takes up less room in the pouch contrary to what you might think. If you have our adjustable baby sling, the solution is easy: simply tighten the strap for a tighter fit. For other slings, try the following tip.
