GoodBye and Hello Peanut Shell…Letter from founder Alicia Shaffer

August 12th, 2010

Clomid
Actos

To all of our loyal customers,

This letter is bittersweet to write but before any formal announcements are made I wanted my words to come to you, our customers.

Back in 2004 my husband, Demetrious, and I decided to start our baby sling business as a way to allow me to stay home with our baby, Campbell. His nickname was Peanut so from there the Peanut Shell was born. What we didn’t know was how fast the brand would grow and how much less time I’d actually have to manage my family, babies, work, the business, my husband, etc.

Over the years we have been lucky enough to have managed a brand that has been worn by the celebrities, by moms who are bringing home their baby from the hospital, moms who are bringing home their newly adopted baby, to grandmas, and even pet owners carrying their “furry” babies.

Our brand has grown from just a sling company to include accessories, breastfeeding covers, burp cloths, diaper clutches, and more.  And my family has grown from our one little peanut to now THREE!!!

The next step for the Peanut Shell is to grow and expand even more so at this point I have decided to step back and turn over the brand to a team that will manage this beautifully.

We decided to sell the company and have done so as of today. This will allow me to have the time I need with my family as well as see the brand grow to it’s fullest potential by staying on as the fashion designer.

I first want to say thank you for all of your support over the years…to the first mom who bought a Peanut Shell from the back of my car at a mom’s group to the buyers at Babies R Us, this has been an amazing journey that I have learned so much from.

It is so hard to see my “baby” grow up and essentially move on but I cannot wait to see what the brand is going to become.

I also want to say thank you to all of our customers who over the past few months probably thought we were going out of business as the changes were happening!!  As you can imagine we couldn’t release the information until it was complete so now we are back in business. If you have not received a response or placed an order without product we will be making it right for you. Please email the new office at customerservice@thepeanutshell.com

Stay tuned to see what is coming out this Fall

XOXO

Alicia Shaffer

Peanut Shell Hosts Tisha Campbell’s Baby Shower

July 23rd, 2009

We had the opportunity to help Host Tisha Campbell’s baby shower. It was an amazing circus theme! She was so blown away by the decor and everyone that helped celebrate. Below is a collage from the day. Tisha was gifted with an Heirloom baby sling, Peanut Shell hospital gown, swaddle blanket, nursing cover and baby sling!

Heirloom Baby Slings are ready to ship

June 15th, 2009

We are so proud to finally release a long-time-coming design….our Heirloom Baby Sling collection. Truly unique in every design aspect. We took the pouch-style sling and redesigned it for a more streamlined fit, added vintage hand-touched detailed like embroidery, rouching, piping, creamy jersey lining, and more.
Each baby sling was named after a grandmother who has given years of love and inspiration to the designers.

My Life...In A Peanut Shell

"Let's be perfectly clear on this, my mom doesn't teach me how to live. No. She lives. I watch. Get it? I mean, just because I came along is no reason for her to change who she is. She's who she is 'cuz it's who's she's always been. Sure, things have changed. But nothing's really changed. She still lives a life full of confidence, style, grace, and excitement. And you better not label her a typical mom. She's anything but typical. She still has style: a personal style, a lifestyle, and now, a parenting style. And she does it all with me in tow. She lives her life. I watch.

Go Nuts Mom!"
